A DZOGCHEN PRACTICE - Tibetan

> Sit comfortably and settle the mind. Imagine that you are in a pure, boundless, white space of formless clarity. This is the space found between thoughts, a non-conceptualized space of clarity, peace and bliss. When thoughts arise, disregard them -- recognize them to be devoid of any real substance, a transitory and insignificant flash in the mind. Do not cling to or become fascinated with your thoughts. Remain detached and let them pass, always redirecting your attention to the open non-conceptual space behind, between and beyond thought. In this state, visualize the letter A as clear and luminous, surrounded by a full 7 color rainbow. See the colors as radiating from the letter out. Violet is closest to the center then indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. Chant the sound Ahhhhhhhh during the visualization. Continue as long as possible or for at least 5 minutes. When you are finished, see the rainbow colors concentricity shrinking in toward the letter A and melting into it and dissolving into clear light. See the letter A alone for a while and then slowly let it shrink down to an infinitesimally small point which radiates pure, clear white light as it shrinks out of view. Sit awhile in the formless presence of this peaceful space beyond thoughts and concepts.
